Royal Arts Academy launches youth empowerment initiative
Royal Arts Academy, (RAA) has launched ‘The Spotlight’ – a three-pronged Youth Empowerment Initiative that comprises of a Short Film Contest, The “Spotlight Movie” premiere and the Spotlight Empowerment Platform.
In a statement by Unyime Akpan, Project officer, RAA, said in the short film contest, students of the academy will make a short film of not more than 10 minutes where the five best entries will be selected and judged by a jury comprising of producers, actors, directors and screenwriters.
” Thereafter the films will be uploaded on Royal Arts Academy’s Website and YouTube channel for public viewing and voting.
“At the end of which the winning short film which will be decided both by the public and the jury will be announced at the movie premiere of “Spotlight”, a feature movie produced by Royal Arts Academy.
“The winner of the contest will receive a cash prize of N500,000 and runners up will receive N250,000 and N150,000 respectively.
“This event will climax with the Spotlight Movie Awards where awards will be given to deserving students who participated in the event tomorrow in Lagos.
Royal Arts Academy has for over 5 years, trained and equipped actors, screenwriters, editors and directors, with the necessary skills for industry success. The academy do not only offer world class training, it also exposes it’s students to industry titans and empowers her students with over NGN2,000,000.
